The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Scholars Program provides opportunities at various DOE sites to gain fi­rst-hand experience and training in the fi­elds of science, engineering, technology, and related professions that support the mission of the U.S. Department of Energy.
Disciplines: Business; communications and graphic design; mathematics; computer science; physical sciences; earth, environmental, and marine sciences; engineering; statistics; physics; and other related areas 

Eligibility: U.S. Citizens Only. Undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate of an accredited institute of higher education. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for summer
appointments only.

Locations: Various locations across U.S.

Duration: Summer Term of 10 weeks (May – August); terms may be extended

Deadline: Applications accepted October 15 through November 15, 2011 

Benefi­ts: Stipends up to $650 per week depending on academic status. Travel to and from the appointment site will be paid when the distance is over 60 miles one-way.

Position Description: Energy Markets Intern

EnerNOC, Inc., a leading provider of technology-enabled energy management solutions, is recruiting Energy Markets Interns to work in its Boston office. The Energy Markets group supports EnerNOC’s mission through nomination of demand response assets, portfolio and risk management, financial reporting, and quantitative analysis.  In addition, Energy Markets provides support to many other departments such as Event Operations, Sales, and Finance.
The Energy Markets Intern will be responsible for:
  • Supporting day-to-day tasks of Energy Markets group
  • Registering new and existing customer’s in multiple markets
  • Performing quantitative analysis
  • Using Excel and VBA (or similar technology) to automate processes
  • Assisting with asset nomination strategy and execution
  • Assisting with submission of offer schedules and compliance data
  • Reconciling financial settlements
Required Qualifications/Skills/Education:
  • Undergraduate or graduate student with focus on quantitative field such as Economics, Engineering, Math, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow through on assigned tasks
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform advanced quantitative analysis
Desired Qualifications/Skills/Education:
  • Knowledge of statistics, programming, or other analytical discipline
  • Knowledge of Salesforce

Advanced Energy Economy
This summer, Advanced Energy Economy is looking for top university students who are passionate about advanced energy to become AEE Fellows. The AEE Fellowship is a demanding but fun job, designed to be a launch pad into a career in the energy sector.

The Fellowship is composed of:
·  A 10-week, paid summer internship in AEE’s San Francisco office
·  Organizing an advanced energy campus event in the fall
·  An ongoing relationship with the other Fellows, AEE staff, and the growing AEE network of organizations and companies
